Write Now Lancaster is for anyone who is writing with the goal of having their work seen by a public audience. We are not a critique group, we are a writing group.
We meet one Wednesday evening a month in downtown Lancaster. Please contact us to be added to our mailing list or join our Facebook group.
The in person format of the evening is:
7:00pm - 7:30pm -- Group introductions/mingling
7:30pm - 8:30pm -- Writing time
(work on whatever you want, we will provide prompts if you want them)
8:30pm - 9:00pm -- Closing chat/mingling
FREE?!
Potluck snacks and drinks are encouraged; small donations ($2-$5) accepted, but not required.
Our Commitment to Community
Write Now Lancaster is an ABAR community. What's that? ABAR stands for Anti-Bias, Anti-Racist. As a group of artists, we are committed to creating a space that is safe for people to create, grow, and be vulnerable. But doing those things requires not only a safe space, but bravery from its members. We are committed to holding ourselves and each other accountable. If harmful words are spoken, if mistakes are made (we are all human), growth and apologies will be required. Thank you for trusting us with your best/broken/beautiful selves.
